Bloom was a protege of Levine's during the 1960's & did a number of sessions for Levine's bosses Jerry Katzenez, Jeff Katz, & Artie Kornfeild at Kama Sutra/Buddah Records before leaving with Levine to set up L&R Records with Mike Curb at MGM for major distribution.Bloom had some pothsumous cash-in releases on the labels he recorded for previously on Buddah & Roulette (he also did some business with the notorious label owner/Mafia member of the Genovesee Family Syndicate Morris Levy, hence this Roulette recording originally recorded in 1967).Bloom was always considered an unstable guy throughout his short career, taking drugs & having a wild party life, which abruptly ended in a 1974 accidental fatal shooting over a botched drug deal, resulting in Bloom's death. he was 29 years old at the time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648927811143478675.post-83627904878077056402010-02-02T14:10:26.863-06:002010-02-02T14:10:26.863-06:00Great blog! I like it that there's no rhyme or reason to your posts - always something new, interesting , and surprising.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648927811143478675.post-71528734992135959212010-02-01T20:25:25.603-06:002010-02-01T20:25:25.603-06:00This is just an extension of digitizing my record ...This is just an extension of digitizing my record collection. I spend about an hour a day recording the music. I randomly pick a record with no rhyme or reason to post maybe sometimes two a day. These will eventually dry up an be deleted and will never be posted again. I am also using this as a test for morphing the 45 of the day email into something different at some pointHowdyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03817710041339540732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648927811143478675.post-31056772778756720062010-02-01T19:20:00.651-06:002010-02-01T19:20:00.651-06:00Red,
Just wanted to let you know I'm loving...Red,
Just wanted to let you know I'm loving your new 45rpm blog. Truly great stuff, and I'm downloading every post. I thought I might also comment that I feel a bit overwhelmed with the output, and am having trouble keeping up with you. With your daily 45 coming into my email inbox, plus what's on this blog, it is a bit much for a person with only an hour or so a day to devote to downloading and such. I think one 45 a day on the blog is enough to keep us all happy.

Thanks,
DerikDerikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01076941324847748381noreply@blogger.com
