I think they went into the studio with singing the blues and this one was probably made up on the spot. It is a stark contrast to the flipside. They should have had Roky Erickson work on it for thirty minutes it may have been an underground classic.

This is definitely the "keeper" side of this record. Oddly compelling.

Have no idea what anyone was thinking with that bizarre A-side version of "Singing the Blues" which is not only a mess, but blatantly uncompelling.
